Romantic, Heart-warming Wedding of Hong & Andrew at Chateau Wyuna

Hong and Andrew met each other on Wechat in Oct 2012. After chatting online for almost 2 months, they finally met in person. Hong continues, “We didn’t plan to meet on that day, I was in the city with my girl friends, Andrew texted me to tell me he doesn’t have any plan for that day”. Hong further tells the story, “Then I invited him to come to the city to join me and my friends. So, we met at Flinders Street Station. We took him to try Cantonese yum cha, he then took us to Brunswick Street and showed us around the cafes, bars and shops. It was fun!”

Honk tells us their biggest spark is how they, two very different people, fell in love to each other. From different countries with cultural differences; one likes heavy metal music, one likes love ballads; One really loves horror movie and one is so into romance movies. “I guess that is the best part of our love. We started to like and enjoy what each other likes, we are still different, but we became more and more similar”.

“We like to have cuddles on the couch with our dogs and watch movies at home, we like to go out to the bars for some beers and relax, we like to go to the Metal bands’ gigs, we like to take the dogs to park, we like to have a wander in Kmart. Andrew is a drummer, so sometimes i just like to watch him practice drums at home.

The pair got engaged in December 2017 and chose 2 February 2019 for their special day. When asked about how you would describe your wedding, Hong replied, “Burgundy, with a lot of greenery, some white and peach light pink, I plan to have a rustic and natural vibe”.

We had the opportunity to capture the bridal photo, right after ceremony. Since the venue, Chateau Wyuna is a beautiful venue, we didn’t have to go very far to find spots for wedding photography. The Rolls Royce they hired from Always Classic Car was a beautiful prop and it sure gives their wedding photos more story to tell.

“One of my favourite details is, we are going to have junga pieces for the guest book, so all the guests will take jenga pieces and sign on them”. Many of the guests are from overseas. From our eyes, we can tell that the guests are very special to them.

To Hong and Andrew, It’s no wedding without first dance and they’re well prepared, in fact their first dance is the highlight of the night. Very theatrical. Check this video below, captured by our GoPro!
